Almost nothing says “winter” more to me than a fair isle sweater. And this sweater from H&M practically screams winter wonderland. I mean, it’s got reindeers on it, for goodness’ sake. And since we’ve been experiencing some colder weather lately I wanted to share a few quick and easy ways I’ve been styling it.

Now let’s get to the looks . . .

One of the easiest ways to style a fair isle sweater is to wear some pants and accessories that compliment the colors of the sweater. I grabbed these dark red pants from Old Navy and a white beanie, some black boots, and called it a day. The colored pants helped to bring out the red designs of the sweater.

For extra warmth, try some layering. I grabbed a flannel plaid shirt I wore a lot during the holidays and wore it underneath the sweater. It kept me warm and added a slight pop of color to the collar and bottom of the sleeves of the sweater. Also, if you decide to wear a skirt like I did make sure to wear some fleece-lined tights or leggings to keep your legs warm.

One of the simplest ways to style a sweater is to wear it with your favorite pair of jeans and a nice, warm coat. Add some boots and a hat and you’re good to go. I added some boot socks to keep me toes extra cozy and topped the look off with a beret. For some reason this look made me feel like I should be exploring the highlands of Scotland.
