Animal print is a trend that I hope never goes out of style. I love how it can take a casual, everyday outfit from plain jane to jazzy jesse. But sometimes, wearing animal print can be intimidating because too much of it can make you look like a deranged Cruella de Vil. And no one wants to look like that.
That’s why I wanted to share 4 easy ways you can rock animal print in your everyday life. It doesn’t matter if you’re at work, at school, or running around town doing errands, you can always add a little animal print to your outfit. It’s easy as 1, 2 ,3 , 4 . . .
My sizing information: I’m 5’7” and I wear a size 16/18 in shirts, dresses, and pants. My shoe size is 10 wide.
An animal print shirt is the easiest way to rock this trend. I got this leopard print one at Old Navy and I absolutely love it because it’s comfortable, it doesn’t cling to me, it’s just the length, and it only costed $10. But keep in mind if you’re wearing an animal print shirt you’ll want to keep your bottoms a neutral color so your shirt can be the focus.
The Accessories
The second way to add some animal print to any outfit is to wear it as an accessory. Accessories give you the ability to follow the trend without committing an entire look to it. Try wearing an animal print scarf or some funky jewelry to wear this trend to work or the grocery store. I got these earrings from a site called Lovelynjewels. Feel free to use code Nellie30 to get 30% off your first purchase.
The Shoes
Shoes are a girl’s best friend (well, that and diamonds) and they’re also the easiest way to add some animal print to your style. I got these Cheetah print platform sneakers at Torrid and my favorite way to wear them is by pairing them with a neutral, lowkey outfit. They sneak a little animal print into your outfit without overwhelming your look. Plus, they’re pretty comfortable.
The Skirt
If you want to wear this trend to a job interview or to church (like I did) try wearing a cheetah print skirt with a solid colored top. Just like the animal print shirt, the skirt should be the focus of this outfit so try to find some neutral colored shoes to go with it. And if you want to make it look really professional add a black blazer.
So what do you think? Is the animal print trend still going strong or are you completely over it? And if you’re not, how do you like to wear it? Leopard print, Cheetah, or Zebra? Let me know in the comments.
