I love celebrating the 4th of July. When I think of the 4th I think of BBQs, fireworks, freedom, and spending time with family and friends. But no matter how you celebrate or who you gather with you’re going to need a cute outfit.
I’ve come up with 5 easy-to-do, Americana-inspired outfits that you can wear for not only this 4th of July holiday but for the rest of the summer.

When I saw this blue and white polka dot scoop dress at Old Navy the first thing I thought of was the 4th of July. I added these red sandals I found online at this online shop called Glitzy Girlz Boutique for a pop of color and a cognac hat and belt from Amazon to keep the sun off my head and to make my waist look slimmer.

Shorts are a summer staple, especially if you live in Louisiana where the heat can be stifling. But if you’re like me you might have trouble finding shorts that are long enough to be comfortable but short enough to be shorts. Fortunately, Maurices and Old Navy have plenty of length options when it comes to shorts. I paired this light wash distressed pair from Maurices with this red and white stripe tank also from Maurices, threw on my red Tory Burch dupe sandals and blue cap I got from the Magnolia Market last month and called it a day.

They always say you’re not supposed to wear white after Labor Day, so here I am wearing white jeans before Labor Day. A comfortable pair of white jeans and a navy top never go out of style – no matter what time of the year it is, really – and this pair is perfect for the summer because they’re lightweight and stretchy. This cotton blue t-shirt with all the white stars was also really comfortable and easy to wear.

This Maurices Blue Paisley Maxi Dress was the easiest to wear because the dress was so lightweight. I loved the white and red paisley flower design on it (it reminded me of a handkerchief) and the fact that it had pockets. Never underestimate the convenience of pockets on a dress. To give the outfit a bonus touch of Americana style I used a red handkerchief to tie my hair back.

Out of all of the outfits in this post, this one was by far the most comfortable. This striped tie tank is made of cotton so it’s super breathable and the tie-straps come in handy because you can tighten or loosen the tank if you need to. I thought the light blue and white top paired nicely with the white jeans so I kept them on but I traded my red sandals for some cognac ones.
