I don’t know about you but I’m always up for taking good pictures to add to my Instagram feed so anytime I go somewhere I’m always on the lookout for a cool mural wall or landmark to snap some pics in front of. And while it’s easy to think that Instagram-worthy places only exist in really big cities, just take a look around at your local settings. You might be surprised.
Alexandria, Louisiana is not a big city by any means but it’s surprisingly easier than you think to find an Instagram-worthy place to take a picture there. You just have to know where to look. Rapides Parish Library Westside

There are two libraries in Alexandria but the Westside one is my favorite by far. Its tall, white columns, beautiful windows, and brick details truly make it a stunning piece of architecture.
Lakes District Clock Tower & Compass Rose
333 Ansley Blvd, Alexandria, LA 71303
The Lakes District Clock Tower and Compass Rose is a hidden gem that many people (including locals) don’t know about. It houses the Old Rapides Bank Building Clock and a beautiful compass rose that points the four cardinal directions. Although it’s located off the beaten path, its brick walls can make the perfect backdrop for any picture.
Street Art Floral Mural Wall
325 Desoto Street, Alexandria, LA 71301
Street art can be incredibly beautiful and can make any picture you take look Instagram ready. This mural was actually painted by several local artists and it’s located in downtown Alexandria. Feel free to stop by any time during the day because the street it’s on is normally pretty quiet.
Colorful Ugly Mug Marketing Alexandria, Louisiana Wall

Ugly Mug Marketing is a marketing company that many Central Louisiana businesses use and while they’re service is top notch so is their colorful Alexandria wall. Jam-packed with bright colors this wall is the perfect place to grab a quick group photo or a fun selfie.
Red River Cyclery Mural Wall
4023 Parliament Drive, Alexandria, LA 71303
Downtown isn’t the only place you can find mural walls. A few of them are popping up on Jackson Street including this stunning one that’s painted on the side of Red River Cyclery. While this mural hasn’t been around that long it definitely catches my eye every time I pass by.
