Having oily/combination skin can be challenging. But having oily/combination skin in Louisiana humidity can be a downright struggle. Louisiana weather has a tendency to change on a dime, which means my skin can go from being a complete oil-fest to feeling dry and tight in the blink of an eye.
Fortunately, I’ve learned that keeping my skin hydrated also helps to keep my oils at bay and the best way to do that is to use a good moisturizer. I’ve tested these 5 moisturizers out for the last few months and I can honestly say my oily skin seems to love each one.
If you’re looking for a really great moisturizer that’s clean and will leave your skin feeling nourished all day just keep reading – I’ve got you covered.

Versed is a clean skincare brand that can be found in your local drugstores and Target. They’re Dew Point Moisturizing Gel Cream is a bestseller because it works really well. It’s a lightweight gel moisturizer that has a jelly texture that absorbs instantly in your skin. It doesn’t have much of a smell and it doesn’t leave behind a greasy residue. Instead it leaves your skin feeling hydrated and soft.

Bliss Drench & Quench Cream-to-Water Hydrator for All Day Moisture – $19.99

It has a lightweight formula that transforms into water when it touches your skin, leaving you with a cool, nourished face. The Bliss website states that this moisturizer is for dry skin but I found that my oily skin took to it really well. And now it even comes in a mini size.

Peach & Lily Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream – $40 /// Travel Size – $23
Peach & Lily is an awesome K-beauty skincare company that also offers clean skincare products. Their Matcha Pudding Antioxidant Cream covers your skin with antioxidants to help protect your skin from free radicals. And because Matcha is one of it’s main ingredients it has a green color and pudding-like texture that blends into your skin smoothly.

Farmacy Honey Drop Lightweight Moisturizer – $45
Farmacy’s Honey Drop moisturizer is a hydrating gel cream that keeps your skin plump all day because it’s formulated with antioxidant-rich honey and hyaluronic acid. It also contains cupuacu butter beads that soothe and blend into the skin seamlessly to release hydration all day long. And even though honey is one of the main ingredients, it’s not the least bit sticky.
Key Ingredients: Honey, Hyaluronic Acid, Royal Jelly, Propolis, Fermented Soy, Cupuacu Butter Beads
The Tatcha Water Cream moisturizer is definitely a splurge on this list but it’s probably one of my all-time favorites because it transforms into water the moment it makes contact with your skin. It’s oil-free and is full of Japanese ingredients such as Japanese Wild Rose, Japanese Leopard Lily, and the Hadasei 3 Complex (Uji Green Tea, Okinawa Red Algae, Akita Rice). It leaves your skin feeling soft and supple even after a long day and gives your face a minimal glow.

Each of these moisturizers do their job well and won’t let you down. From affordable to splurge-worthy, these 5 moisturizers are worth giving a try and I highly recommend them all.
