Ah, Halloween. My absolute favorite holiday. And while some may think that Halloween is just for kids, I can say that I whole-heartedly disagree. Candy, costumes, and ghost stories – what’s not to love? Halloween can be fun at any age, even as an adult. If you want to celebrate it there’s a few things you can do to get you in the festive spirit.

Make Pumpkin Pancakes or Waffles
Start the day by making some pumpkin pancakes or waffles. Add a pumpkin spice latte and syrup and you’ve got the Halloween breakfast of champions. I picked up this mini pumpkin waffle maker from Target and let me tell you – it’s the easiest thing to use to add a fall fun to your breakfast.
Wear a Spooky-Inspired Outfit
Nothing will put you in the celebratory mood faster than wearing a Halloween-inspired outfit. Try a fall sweater or cardigan or even a spooky cute dress as your outfit for the day. You’ll look and feel festive and are sure to receive some compliments.
Visit a Local Pumpkin Patch
My next tip is to visit your local pumpkin patch. Even if you’ve already done this, I highly recommend going back to the pumpkin patch and just walking around. Take some pictures, drink some homemade apple cider (if they have some), and enjoy the cool, crisp weather. You can even pick out a pumpkin (which will likely be discounted because it’s the end of October) for my next activity idea.
Paint or Carve a Pumpkin
If you’re not carving a pumpkin on Halloween, have you even really celebrated it? My husband, Denis, is a fan of carving pumpkins so we do this every year and it never gets old. I, on the other hand, really enjoy grabbing some acrylic paint and brushes and painting a pumpkin. Not only will this bring out your creative side, both crafts are very relaxing and easy to do.
Bake Some Halloween Sweet Treats
Another way to spend Halloween is by baking some Halloween treats. You can find these Frankenstein Rice Krispie Treats and Black Cat Cookies at Target. They’re not only delicious but the recipes are easy to follow. Also, each of these kits come with all the ingredients and tools you’ll need so you don’t have to buy a bunch of different things.
Watch Your Favorite Halloween Movie
Lastly, you can top off the night by snuggling up on the couch and watching your favorite Halloween movie. My personal favorite is Hocus Pocus (shocking to no one). Because this movie is so popular this time of year, Denis and I have been saving it for Halloween night. There’s just something so perfect and nostalgic about this film. It’s creepy, Halloween-y, but not scary, making it ideal to watch on Halloween night.
Halloween as an adult offers endless opportunities for fun and creativity. Whether you choose to host a party, explore haunted sites, or enjoy a scary movie marathon, the key is to embrace the spirit of the season. So unleash your inner child and make this Halloween one to remember!
