The Best Summer Beauty Essentials

Hello friends! In today’s post I’m going to share some of my favorite summer beauty essentials. I consider the products in this post to be some of the best products you can use in the summer for 3 simple reasons: 1) their longevity, 2) their ingredients, and 3) their ability to resist the most extreme heat.

I live in Louisiana and our summers can be … pretty rough when it comes to temperature and humidity, so I’m always on the lookout for beauty products that are long-wearing and will keep my skin protected and hydrated all day long. If you’ve been looking for some beauty products for this summer you’ve come to the right place.

RMS Beauty ReDimension Hydra Dew Luminizer in Prosecco Fizz

If a soft, lightweight highlighter is what you’ve been looking for, definitely give this one from RMS Beauty a try. This talc-free gel-to-powder highlighter gives your skin a luminous, lit-from-within sort of look, and blends onto the face nicely. You won’t have to worry about bright, glittery streaks on your cheeks, because this highlighter is formulated with a sugar-derived wet powder technology that leaves your skin with a healthy glow. I find applying it with your fingers works really well.

RMS Beauty ReDimension Hydra Powder Blush in Bohemian Girl

Similarly to the highlighter, this Hydra Powder Blush is soft and gives your skin a blurring effect. Also formulated with sugar-derived wet powder technology, this lightweight blush glides on the skin effortlessly and doesn’t fade throughout the day. This is a great product if you apply blush with a heavy hand, because it builds slowly, meaning you can’t put too much on. It comes in 8 beautiful shades.

RMS Beauty Eyelights Cream Shadow in Spark, Supernova, Moondust

Summertime is for one-and-done eye looks – you know what I’m talking about – the kind of looks that make people think you worked a long time on your makeup when you really didn’t. Those are the best makeup looks because they’re so easy but they look nice. The RMS Beauty Eyelights are some of my favorite products to use when I’m in a hurry or just feeling lazy. Just use a flat brush and wipe the product all over your eyelid, add some mascara, and you’ve got yourself a look. These longwearing, cream eyeshadows come in 10 alluring shades that are suitable for all eye colors, but my current favorites are Spark, Supernova, and Moondust.

Loving Tan Deluxe Bronzing Mousse in Medium

If you’re not a big fan of tanning beds, this next product is perfect for you. Loving Tan is a tanning brand that I’ve used for years and will continue to use when I want to add a little color to legs. This tanning mousse is lightweight and gives you a natural-looking tan in a matter of minutes, although I do strongly recommend you apply it with Loving Tan’s Applicator Mitt so you don’t end up with tan palms. Your tan should stay in place for about 3 days, then you’ll have to reapply.

Julep Eyeshadow 101 Creme to Powder Waterproof Eyeshadow Sticks

Another one of my favorite one-and-done makeup products are the Julep Beauty Eyeshadow Sticks. Not only do they come in a variety of colors, they also are crease-proof and stay in place all day. You can get these sticks in different formulas too – in shimmer, metallic, and matte – making them the perfect way to travel with eyeshadow instead of carrying around a heavy palette. Trust me, these long-wearing shadow sticks are so easy to use that you’ll find yourself reaching for them all summer long.

Dior Lip Glow Oil in Rosewood

How many times have you worn a lip oil that was so sticky that everything seemed to get caught in it – from your hair to food? I hate that feeling, but thankfully there’s the Dior Lip Glow Oil. This glossy lip oil nourishes and protects your lips, while helping to bring out their natural color. Unlike other lip oils and glosses, this one from Dior is more balmy than sticky, and it’s enriched with moisturizing cherry oil. A must-have for summer.

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Bronzer in Diffused Bronze Light

This next product is an oldie but a goodie because it’s been around for years, but I stand by it because it works beautifully. This illuminating bronzer uses something called Photoluminescent Technology, which helps this bronzer give you a sunkissed glow that’s soft and natural-looking. What I love about this bronzer is that it gives your face definition without overpowering your cheeks.

Kosas Cloud Set Baked Setting & Smoothing Powder in Breezy

When it comes to summer, a setting powder is definitely an essential because it can calm down any shine on your face that you might not want. One of my go-to setting powders in the summer is the Kosas Cloud Set Powder because it’s silky smooth and baked, meaning it reduces the look of your pores, leaving you with a natural air-brushed effect.

Erborian Color Correcting CC Cream with Centella Asiatica in Clair

While I do love foundation, I find myself reaching for CC Creams and tinted moisturizers more in the warmer months, and one of my absolute favorites is from Erborian. This hydrating CC cream is one of the coolest products I’ve ever used. The cream comes out white but blends in to match the color of your skin. And while this product doesn’t provide heavy coverage, it does blur out redness and refines texture, leaving your face soft and smooth.

Nars Soft Matte Concealer in Madeleine

Because the Erborian is heavy coverage, I always apply the Nars Soft Matte Concealer to the spots on my face where I feel I need a little more coverage. This lightweight concealer blurs and smooth imperfections instantly because it’s formulated with awesome ingredients like hyaluronic acid, peptides, and Vitamins A, C, and E. Because it’s packaged in a little pot, it’s really easy to use this product by applying it with a small brush or even your fingers.
