Festive Plaid
Shop the Look: Turtleneck – Old Navy | Skirt – Maurices | Tights – Torrid | Booties – Torrid | Puff Sleeve Dress – Ivy City Co. | Short Plaid Dress – Old Navy
Never underestimate the power and simplicity of a plaid skirt or a plaid dress. You can take a basic or neutral outfit and spice it up with a festive plaid skirt and some tights. The skirt I’m wearing came from Maurices and it’s one of my favorite clothing pieces because it has an elastic waist and it isn’t too short. As for a plaid dress, it’s one of the quickest ways to make yourself feel festive.
Bejeweled Skirt/Cardigan
Shop the Look: Cardigan – Maurices | Tank – Maurices | Pants – Torrid | Booties – Torrid | Green Blouse – Shein (Similar)
In the words of Taylor Swift, “Best believe I’m still bejeweled when I walk in the room. I can still make the whole place shimmer.” Nothing says holiday time quite like a sequin skirt or cardigan and both are super quick and easy to throw on. A sequin skirt adds a little something extra to an otherwise plain look while a sequin cardigan is a great third piece.
Lovin’ the Lace
Shop the Look: Dress – Ivy City Co. | Booties – Torrid | Tights – Torrid
There’s just something about a lace dress or top that will give you all the holiday party vibes. Lace is a fabric that can easily dress a casual look up because it draws the eye to the pattern. And it’s so versatile that you can wear one piece like a lace skirt or blouse with a solid color or you can rock a full-on lace dress like I did.
Pretty in Pink & Neutrals
Shop the Post: Cream Fair Isle Sweater – Old Navy (Similar) | Pants – Torrid | Boots – Torrid | Pink Fair Isle Sweater – Maurices
I don’t know why but soft shades of pink, white, cream, beige, and silver always look good to me in the winter. I think it’s because neutral colors tend to remind me of snow and baby pink reminds me of how rosy your cheeks get after you’ve played in the snow. Wearing soft pink and neutrals are a good substitute for the traditional red and green pieces you might normally reach for.
Holiday Sweater
Shop the Look: Christmas Truck Sweater – Maurices (Similar) | Fair Isle Sweater – H&M (Similar) | Jeans – Torrid | Red Pants – Old Navy (Similar) | Chelsea Boots – Maurices (Similar) | Tartan Plaid Shirt – Old Navy | Combat Boots – Torrid (Similar)
One of the quickest ways to give an outfit some festive flare is by wearing a Christmas/holiday sweater. Not only will it keep you cozy and warm, it makes you feel ready for the holidays. And there’s usually so many different kinds of holiday sweaters to pick from at this time of year – from ones with cute designs to ugly Christmas sweaters.
No matter what you decide to wear or how you choose to style it just remember not to overthink it and have fun making memories. Because at the end of the day it doesn’t really matter what you wore – it matters how you felt and how you made others feel.
Verse of the Day: Therefore the Lord Himself will give you a sign: Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a Son, and shall call His name Immanuel. – Isaiah 7:14
