A gingham dress is a clothing piece worth investing in because there are so many ways to wear it. This simple pattern is very versatile and looks good on practically everyone. No matter if you dress it up or dress it down, a gingham dress is a closet staple for the summer, which is why I want to show two easy ways to style one.

Do you have a baby shower or wedding shower coming up soon? How about a graduation party or a backyard BBQ? Or maybe you just need to run to some errands and want to throw on a quick and easy outfit. A gingham dress is perfect for all of your outfit needs. This one I got from Old Navy is kind of old, but I still reach for it during the warmer months. Now let’s dress it down and dress it up.
The first and easiest way you can wear a gingham dress is to keep it simple. Add some neutral accessories and shoes and you’re ready to go. Because the gingham pattern is eye-catching enough by itself, you don’t have to overdo it by mixing prints or wearing bright colored accessories that will draw the eye away from the dress. I styled it with a pair of camel sandals, some pearl earrings, a gold coin necklace from Amazon, and a wooden clutch I also found on Amazon. I love carrying this clutch because I always get compliments on it.
One of the quickest ways to take a gingham dress from casual to classy is by adding a neutral blazer. I styled the dress with a blazer from Maurices and a pair of neutral flats from Torrid. Not only does the blazer help the outfit look put together – it’s really comfortable and will keep you warm in a chilly setting. Another quick way to dress up a gingham dress is by adding a string of pearls. There’s nothing more classy and dressy than pearls.
Verse of the Day: Our soul waits for the Lord; He is our help and our shield. For our heart shall rejoice in Him, because we have trusted in His holy name. Let Your mercy, O Lord, be upon us, just as we hope in You. – Psalms 33:20-22
