On May 27, 2017 I married my best friend and the love of my life, Denis Coody, on a beautiful sunny day in the church I grew up in. We were engaged for 2 years before that fateful day came and you can best believe that a lot of planning and preparation took place before the big day.
It was during this time – the planning time – that I jumped online and began researching the best makeup products to use for my wedding day. I wanted to look like myself but better (as does every bride) but I also wanted to make sure my makeup held up through the festivities. Because we got married in the summertime in Louisiana the humidity and heat was at an all time high and the last thing I wanted was for my face to melt off before we even cut the cake.
So, after weeks of researching and testing out foundation samples from Dillard’s I finally found the top products to use for a warm summer’s day wedding. Some of these products are still available and some are going to be discontinued, but all of them worked together seamlessly and stayed in place all day – from the beginning of the ceremony to the tossing of the bouquet – my face didn’t move or sweat off once.
Here’s a list of the products I used that day:
FACE:
- Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer
- Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay in Place Foundation
- Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder
- Urban Decay All Nighter Setting Spray
CHEEKS:
- Anastasia Beverly Hills Light to Medium Contour Kit
- Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush
- Becca Cosmetics Shimmering Skin Perfector Highlighter in Champagne Pop
EYES:
LIPS:
Since our 4th wedding anniversary is at the end of this month I thought I’d try and recreate my wedding day makeup. Here’s some pictures of how it turned out – not too shabby if I do say so myself:
All of these products actually do what they claimed to do and I still stand by them – even four years later. So now that you’ve seen my wedding day makeup what products did you use for your wedding? Did you go natural beauty or full-out sultry?
