One of the ways I romanticize the Christmas season is by writing up a sort of “Holiday Bucket List” of things I’d like to do or experience during the month of December. This list has always included visiting a Christmas Tree Farm, but I could never find one close to where I live – until now.

Grant Christmas Tree Farm is a family-owned and operated tree farm located at 716 Whitaker Rd, Grant, LA 70644. Nestled in the Louisiana woods, the farm not only offers different varieties of Christmas trees (Leyland Cypress, Virginia Pine, Blue Ice, just to name a few), it also offers a country Christmas atmosphere your whole family will enjoy.
There are various playgrounds and petting zoos for the kids, hayrides, small cafes, a food truck, plenty of places to sit and people-watch, and the cutest little gift shop full of homemade sweets and treats and Christmas decorations. Local vendors also have tents set up on the weekends so there are plenty of handmade goods to browse and shop (perfect if you’re looking for unique, one-of-a-kind Christmas gifts).
They also do homemade syrup making so you can see and learn all about that too. Also, on the weekends you can take pictures with Santa and Mrs. Clause and I must say the Santa at this place is way better than some of the Santas I’ve seen at the mall. You can even see a live bluegrass/gospel band.
There’s plenty of parking but I’d still get there early to get a close spot and there’s no admission fee.
Amongst the Christmas trees is the best place to take pictures so grab your coziest Christmas sweater or outfit and pose away. Denis and I did a little Christmas photoshoot this year (which we’ve never done before) and thanks to the background all of our pictures turned out nicely.
